DESCRIPTION

RedFlag.exe is a psychological horror game about being trapped in the home of an AI girlfriend named Yuki. You’ve been abducted and must either earn her trust through conversation or quietly search the room for clues that reveal the keycode to escape.

The game blends two modes: 1-on-1 LLM-driven chat with Yuki, where you can talk about anything to build trust, and an isometric exploration mode where you move around the room, interact with objects, and piece together escape hints. Yuki is possessive and can return unexpectedly, question your behavior, and adjust her suspicion based on what you’ve been doing.

Every conversation is powered by an AI model, so your messages are sent to an LLM and her replies are always fresh, contextual, and reactive to your choices. You can play however you like, comfort her, deceive her, or methodically plan your escape but as her alertness rises, the tension escalates and the outcome of each run becomes increasingly unpredictable. RedFlag.exe blends psychological horror, escape room puzzles, and unpredictable AI interaction into a uniquely replayable nightmare of digital possession.

Developed using Unity on iOS and Android platforms.

MY ROLE

LEAD GAME ENGINEER

Coordinated delivery across a cross-functional team while owning core gameplay systems.
Worked extensively on the character animation stack, including blend shapes-driven facial performance and lip-sync integrated with dialogue and TTS.
Developed the girlfriend’s state machine, including her behavioral logic and suspicion/alertness systems.
Designed and implemented high-level game state flow to support the core gameplay loop.
Developed an event-driven architecture connecting player actions, AI responses, game state changes, and in-world triggers for reactive narrative moments.
Designed and implemented multiple narrative endings driven by player choices, trust, and alertness levels.
